Airbag - a guarantee of safer driving
Airbag, i.e. an airbag, is now standard equipment on all new cars. The system includes airbags for the driver and passengers, as well as airbags mounted in the seats. Curtains are also a related safety system. The airbag activates in the event of a severe collision, releasing the airbag, which is designed to protect the head and body from serious damage.
How does an airbag work?
The airbag consists of three elements: an activation system equipped with sensors, a gas generator responsible for inflating the cushion, and a flexible container in which a properly packed cushion is closed. The sensor responds to a sufficiently strong impact and within milliseconds it sends a signal to the gas generator, which uses special pyrotechnics to fire and inflate the cushion. In less than half a second, the pillow is fully ready and able to protect our body from damage.
What to do after the pillows are launched?
Fired airbags are most often removed from the car. They can be regenerated, but it is quite an expensive option. Therefore, in most cases, we decide to buy a new pillow, which will again provide us with greater safety in the event of a collision. Taking into account the very high prices of new airbag systems, it may be a better solution to buy used parts that are obtained from vehicles intended for scrapping. The used pillow is fully functional and ready to operate in a new car.
