A very important role in modern cars is played by the gearbox controller. Without this inconspicuous device we will not get anywhere because our gearbox will not operate properly. The controller is also necessary in order to ensure a much longer lifetime of the gearbox by controlling oil performance in the individual elements that are found in the gearbox. Very commonly, the controller gets damaged in cars with very high mileage. Over the years, small metal particles get inside and make the box dirty leading to a drop in the pressure in it. The pressure drop means that it is only a matter of time when the element will get damaged. 

Good quality gearbox controllers will make it possible to restore full functionality and efficient operation to a lot of cars. No car with an automatic gearbox can function correctly if just this element is damaged in any way. However, instead of opting for a too expensive one, it is worthwhile to have a look here.

Gearbox controller is one of the most important elements of an automatic gearbox as it controls the automatic transmission and ensures that it is steered with appropriate oil pressure. The functioning of an automatic gearbox depends to a large extent on this very controller, which, if it is defective, disrupts the whole functioning of the gearbox and causes a lot of irregularities, including stiff gear change (jerking) or too soft one (slippage). The defective gearbox controller also contributes to premature wear of other parts of the vehicle, such as the clutch or brake discs. So, in order to keep the car in good condition, action must be taken as soon as a defect appears. Occasionally, a defective controller can be repaired; however, in the majority of cases a replacement thereof is necessary.

Virtually all car manufacturers have for many years been fitting electronic devices optimising the engine operation. As a matter of fact, these are specialised computers, also called injection controllers or control units. Why is it worthwhile to have such an element fitted in? The basic purpose of using them is to achieve the possibly best combustion, i.e. the most effective fuel consumption.

New and used engine control units. An ECU (Engine Control Unit) is a device that manages the entire performance of a given machine’s engine based on the data stored in the computer’s memory. If the control unit is functional everything runs smoothly; problems start, however, when something begins to go wrong with the controller itself. It is generally claimed that if an ECU fails we should immediately replace it with a new one because it is impossible to repair the old one. Yet, there are people who are experts on control units and know that some parts, even if they have already  been used, can still be fit for further use. Anyone who has a problem with a control unit in their car and wants to replace it with a new one must also deliberate what to do with the old gear.

More and more cars are equipped with an automatic gearbox. However, in order for this device to operate well, it is necessary that it has a functional controller because it is the most important element of the entire unit without which the automatic gearbox will not be able to function correctly. Obviously, the same principle applies to the traditional, manual gearboxes.
