New and used engine control units. An ECU (Engine Control Unit) is a device that manages the entire performance of a given machine’s engine based on the data stored in the computer’s memory. If the control unit is functional everything runs smoothly; problems start, however, when something begins to go wrong with the controller itself. It is generally claimed that if an ECU fails we should immediately replace it with a new one because it is impossible to repair the old one. The gearbox controller is therefore one of the most important elements of this component that is present in every motor vehicle. Its function is to control the transmission and feed it with oil under the correct pressure. The gearbox transmits power from the engine and thus affects the speed of the vehicle.

Engine controller, which is found in virtually every modern car manufactured nowadays, is nothing else but a high-quality electronic module that controls the operation of a combustion engine. The operation of the module is based on a large number of data that are stored in the memory of the car computer. Among these data, there are maps of various sorts as well as data tables, thanks to which the controller module is capable of coordinating the operation of the entire engine of the vehicle.
