ABS pump 8K0614517BC with control module – is this your number?

This is a genuine, used and working Bosch hydraulic unit from an Audi: block 8K0 614 517 BC combined with electronics 8K0 907 379 Q. Compare these numbers with your part – a match settles the choice.

Go to full description

Bosch ABS hydraulic unit 8K0614517BC with module 8K0907379Q for Audi

This item consists of an aluminium hydraulic block with valves, a pump motor bolted to one side and a control module mounted on the other. The block numbers – VAG 8K0 614 517 BC and Bosch 0 265 236 081 – are not printed on a sticker but stamped into the metal. The block also bears the port markings HZ1, HZ2, VL, VR, HL and HR, and the wording ‘ESP’ appears on the control module.

Markings on this pump and its control module

  • 8K0614517BC – VAG number of the ABS pump (hydraulic unit), stamped into the block as 8K0 614 517 BC
  • 0265236081 – Bosch number of the hydraulic block (pump), marked in the metal: 0 265 236 081
  • 8K0907379Q – VAG number of the ABS/ESP control module, written: 8K0 907 379 Q – from the product data, as the VAG label is not visible in the photos
  • 0265950935 – Bosch control module number, written: 0 265 950 935

Look for digits embossed directly in the aluminium of the block – on a Bosch pump there is no paper label, so they sometimes need cleaning first. The sticker with the module's VAG number does not appear in our photos; we give 8K0 907 379 Q based on the product data. We list as many as 35 variants of this pump with a different suffix, which is why the letters BC at the end must match.

Signs that the ABS unit is giving up

The most common indicators are:

  • an ABS symbol that stays lit all the time,
  • an internal control module fault in the fault memory,
  • no connection to the module during diagnosis,
  • the brake system warning light on.

The order is simple: a computer diagnosis, then a visual check of the sensors at the wheels, the fuses and the wiring with its connector, plus a battery voltage measurement. Only a confirmed fault justifies the purchase. Once this item is fitted, the system is bled, the electronics often need coding, and on a car with ESP a basic setting of the steering angle sensor is generally performed.

Buyer questions on 8K0614517BC

Which make will this part work in?
Audi. The model is irrelevant here; what counts is whether your block and module carry identical markings.
Where does the unit come from, and does it work?
It was removed from a car, is genuine and in working order. The warranty period is given in the product features table.
Which number should I look at first?
The VAG block number 8K0614517BC including the BC ending. Treat module number 8K0 907 379 Q as a second confirmation.
What are the numbers 0 265 236 081 and 0 265 950 935?
They are designations assigned by the manufacturer, Bosch: the first relates to the hydraulic block, the second to the control module. They make identification easier when the VAG number is hard to read.

Photograph the digits stamped into the block or give us your VIN – we will check compatibility before you place your order.

The automatic transmission control unit (often designated as TCU or TCM) is a crucial electronic component responsible for smooth and trouble-free gear shifting. Its failure, most often caused by overheating, short circuits, or water damage, results in jerking, an inability to shift gears, or the vehicle entering limp mode. Purchasing a new module at an authorized dealership is a massive expense, which is why replacing it with a fully functional, used original is the most reasonable solution.
