Jeep engine ECU: number, engine, year

The engine control unit (ECU) manages injection, ignition and the throttle based on sensor signals. That is why a replacement is chosen by the numbers on its label: the electronics manufacturer's number and the Jeep OEM number. The car model and engine size alone are not enough, because one model can come with several ECU versions.

Numbers and markings of Jeep control units

On the label of Jeep ECUs you will find the electronics manufacturer's number and the OEM number. Compare both with the numbers in the listing. The Bosch number 0281033582 is sometimes written as 0 281 033 582, so search both ways.

Control unit preparation options

A used ECU holds the data of the previous car, so some models are also sold as IMMO OFF or VIRGIN versions. Details: ECU preparation options.

Why Auto24Parts

  • Used parts come with a warranty; its terms and period are given in the listing and on the returns, warranty and complaints page.

Frequently asked questions

What do VIRGIN and IMMO OFF mean?VIRGIN is a control unit without the previous car's data, ready to be paired with yours. IMMO OFF is a version with the immobiliser function disabled. Availability depends on the specific ECU.
Is the manufacturer number the same as the OEM number? No. They are two different numbers on one control unit: the electronics manufacturer's number (for example Bosch) and the car brand's OEM number. Both help to match the part.
Do you ship to other countries?Yes, we ship from Poland. Costs and delivery methods are described on the shipping page.

The full range is in the engine control units category; similar makes are Engine control unit for Renault and Engine control unit for Volkswagen. If you can't find something, write to us.
