Saab ABS Pumps – Complete ABS / ESP Units

Saab ABS Pump: Choosing by Part Number

At Auto24Parts you will find used original ABS pumps with control units for Saab cars, including the 900 and 9-3 models. These are hydraulic modules with ABS system electronics, inspected and tested before sale.

Customers most often look for a module when the ABS warning light comes on, the system does not work when braking on a slippery surface, or the control unit has stored a valve or pump motor fault. Before buying a part, read the fault codes, as wheel speed sensors and their wiring can cause similar symptoms.

What matters when choosing is the complete part number from the listing, for example the original number 4426896 and the Bosch manufacturer's number, not just the model and year. If you are not sure, send us a photo of the original pump and the numbers on its label and we will help you check compatibility.

Saab ABS Pump: Hydraulic Module with ABS Control Unit

An ABS pump in a Saab is an aluminium hydraulic block with valves and a pump motor, together with a control unit that reads the signals from the wheel speed sensors. On many models the same module also handles the stability control system, so a fault sometimes shows up as more than just the ABS warning light. The module is usually sold and replaced as a single unit.

Our range changes regularly, and below we give examples from the current range. Among them you will find original numbers, as well as Bosch numbers (0 265 ... and 0 273 ...).

Saab 900 and 9-3 ABS Pump

Our range includes, among others, modules with the following numbers:

Saab ABS pump: modules with no model stated

Our range also includes modules listed as Saab 2.0 or with no model stated, for example Saab 2.0 ABS pump, number 4426896, Saab ABS pump, number 5231204 and Saab ABS pump, number 0265216471. The listings do not always state the year of the car, so compatibility depends on the number from the original pump.

How to choose an ABS pump for a Saab by part number

Model and year are not enough, because the same model comes with different versions of the module, depending on the engine, drive and equipment level. In our range you will find several kinds of numbers:

  • the original number, seven- or eight-digit, for example 4426896 or 12801328,
  • the manufacturer's number for the hydraulic block, for example Bosch 0 265 2xx xxx,
  • the control unit number, for example Bosch 0 273 004 xxx.

One of the listings, for a Saab 9-3, names TRW as the manufacturer and, besides the original numbers, gives additional numbers, for example 13509104G. Compare all the numbers with the original pump in your car and, if in doubt, write to us before buying.

Symptoms of a faulty ABS pump or control unit

  • the ABS warning light comes on after the engine is started and does not go out,
  • the ABS stops working, although basic braking usually remains functional,
  • the brake pedal pulses or feels uneven for no obvious reason,
  • the control unit stores valve, pump motor or communication faults,
  • brake fluid leaks from the hydraulic block, which requires immediate action.

Before deciding on a replacement, check the wheel speed sensors, their wiring and the supply voltage. After replacing the module, the fault codes usually need to be cleared, and after disconnecting the brake lines the system must be bled. On some models the module also needs adaptation in the control unit, so installation is best left to a workshop with a suitable diagnostic scanner.

Used original ABS module: condition and inspection

We sell used original ABS modules, not new parts. Every item is inspected and tested before sale, and the product photos show the look of the block, the numbers and the labels, so you can compare them with your own pump.

FAQ: Saab ABS Pump

Which Saab models do you have ABS pumps for?
Our range includes modules for the 900 and 9-3 models, modules listed as Saab 2.0, and modules where the model is not stated. The listings do not always state the year, so always confirm compatibility with the number from the original pump.
How can I recognise the numbers in listings for Saab ABS pumps?
The original numbers in our range have seven or eight digits, for example 4426896 or 12801328. Alongside them we give the Bosch manufacturer numbers, including the control unit number in the form 0 273 004 xxx.
Are the model and year of the car enough to choose the right part?
No. The same model comes with different versions of the module. The most reliable reference is the number on the original pump.
Can I send a photo so you can check compatibility?
Yes. Contact Auto24Parts and send a photo of the numbers on the original pump, and we will help you check whether the module will fit.
