BMW ABS Pumps – Complete ABS / ESP Units
BMW ABS Pump: Choosing by Part Number
At Auto24Parts you will find used original BMW ABS pumps with control units, including the E36, E39, E60, E70, E90, F10, F20, X1, X3, X5, Z3, Z4 and MINI models. These are hydraulic modules with ABS and DSC system electronics, inspected and tested before sale.
Customers most often look for a module when the ABS warning light comes on, sometimes together with the DSC warning light, the system does not work when braking on a slippery surface, or the control unit has stored a valve or pump motor fault. Before buying a part, read the fault codes, as wheel speed sensors and their wiring can cause similar symptoms.
What matters when choosing is the complete part number from the listing, for example a BMW number in the form 3451 xxxxxxx (pump) or 3452 xxxxxxx (control unit) and the Bosch or ATE manufacturer's number, not just the model and year. If you are not sure, send us a photo of the original pump and the numbers on its label and we will help you check compatibility.

BMW ABS Pump: Hydraulic Module with ABS and DSC Control Unit
An ABS pump in a BMW is an aluminium hydraulic block with valves and a pump motor, together with a control unit that reads the signals from the wheel speed sensors. On most models the same module also handles the DSC (Dynamic Stability Control) system, so a fault sometimes shows up as more than just the ABS warning light. The module is usually sold and replaced as a single unit.
Our range includes more than 150 used original modules for various BMW models. Among them you will find BMW numbers in the 3451 and 3452 formats and in shortened form, as well as Bosch numbers (0 265 ...) and ATE numbers (10.02..., 10.09...). The range changes regularly, so the items below are only examples.

Newer modules with 5A... numbers
Our range also includes newer modules in which the BMW number begins with 5A, for example BMW ABS pump marked HYBRID, number 5A09E51-01. Check numbers like these especially carefully, using the full number.
How to choose an ABS pump for a BMW by part number
Model and year are not enough, because the same model comes with different versions of the module, depending on the engine, drive and equipment level. In our range you will find several kinds of numbers:
- the BMW pump number in the form 3451 xxxxxxx (with an index at the end, for example 01) and the BMW control unit number 3452 xxxxxxx,
- the BMW number in shortened form, that is just the 7 characters without the prefix, and on newer modules numbers beginning with 5A,
- the manufacturer's number for the block and the control unit, for example Bosch 0 265 2xx xxx and 0 265 9xx xxx or ATE 10.02xx-xxxx.x and 10.09xx-xxxx.x.
Compare all the numbers with the original pump in your car and, if in doubt, write to us before buying.
Symptoms of a faulty ABS pump or control unit
- the ABS warning light comes on after the engine is started and does not go out, sometimes together with the DSC warning light,
- the ABS stops working, although basic braking usually remains functional,
- the brake pedal pulses or feels uneven for no obvious reason,
- the control unit stores valve, pump motor or communication faults,
- brake fluid leaks from the hydraulic block, which requires immediate action.
Before deciding on a replacement, check the wheel speed sensors, their wiring and the supply voltage. After replacing the module, the fault codes usually need to be cleared, and after disconnecting the brake lines the system must be bled. On some models the module also needs coding or adaptation in the control unit, so installation is best left to a workshop with a suitable diagnostic scanner.
Used original ABS module: condition and inspection
We sell used original ABS modules, not new parts. Every item is inspected and tested before sale, and the product photos show the look of the block, the numbers and the labels, so you can compare them with your own pump.
