ABS pump and control module Mini Cooper

If the ABS warning light is on in your Mini Cooper or the brake system reports faults, the pump with control module may be the cause. We sell a used, working unit in good condition.

Numbers to compare

  • 67288072 - part number (OEM)
  • 6785944-02 / 678594402 - part number (OEM)
  • 15803814 - part number (OEM)

Application according to the listing

  • Mini Cooper - model

How an ABS pump with control module works

The control module receives signals from the wheel speed sensors and compares them. When one wheel slows down faster than the others, it controls the valves in the hydraulic block to prevent it from locking.

Matching

For this model we offer several pumps with different numbers. The number on the label decides, not the model name alone. The electronics and the hydraulic block are matched to each other, so we treat the listing as a set that should be compared with the original by its numbers.

Symptoms of a faulty ABS pump

  • the ABS warning light is on,
  • ABS stops working during braking,
  • the control module does not communicate with the diagnostic tool,
  • sometimes the ESP or traction control light comes on as well.

Compare all the numbers with the label on your pump, because the same car model may have had several versions.

Questions and answers

What does “used, working” mean?
We sell it as a used part, in working order and in good condition; this information is also given in the listing features.
Does the brake fluid need replacing after the pump is fitted?
The system has to be bled after the pump is replaced anyway, so it is a good moment to check the fluid and replace it if it is old.
Why is the number written in several ways?
The same number may be written with spaces, hyphens or as one string. We give both forms to make it easier to find.

If you have questions about the application, write to contact@auto24parts.com and give the number from the label.

  • How to Check the Operation of a Transmission Control Module - Symptoms

A faulty transmission control module (TCM) most often causes limp mode with the gearbox stuck in one gear, harsh jolts when you select D or R, erratic gear changes, flashing PRND letters and a gearbox or engine warning light. However, the same symptoms are often caused by a low gearbox oil level, a weak battery, a poor earth or a faulty sensor. To test a transmission control module, start by checking the battery and reading the fault codes with a diagnostic tool that can talk to the gearbox control unit, then check the power supply, the connector, the oil and the live data. Below we explain the symptoms, the diagnostic steps and what the most common fault codes mean.
