The number 2Q0 614 517 AF is engraved in the aluminium block, and the Bosch pump number 0 265 292 099 is printed in light grey on the black plastic cover of the control module. This used, working Bosch assembly is suitable for Audi, Volkswagen and Seat cars with matching numbers.

ABS hydraulic unit 2Q0614517AF with control module 2Q0614517M

The moment a wheel starts to lose grip under braking, control module 2Q0 614 517 M detects this from the signals of the wheel speed sensors. It immediately regulates the valves of the hydraulic block so that the pressure in that wheel's circuit drops. The motor of pump 2Q0614517AF then builds the pressure back up, and the wheel brakes again without locking. The whole process takes place without any input from the driver.

VAG and Bosch numbers of this pump

  • 2Q0614517AF – VAG number of the ABS pump (hydraulic unit), engraved in the aluminium block: 2Q0 614 517 AF
  • 0265292099 – Bosch number of the hydraulic block (pump), printed in light grey on the black plastic cover of the control module: 0 265 292 099
  • 2Q0614517M – VAG number of the ABS/ESP control module, on the control module sticker: 2Q0 614 517 M
  • 0265956687 – Bosch number of the control module, laser-marked on the control module housing: 0 265 956 687
  • 2265106584 – Bosch number laser-marked on the control module housing, role not described: 2 265 106 584

Watch out for the similarity: control module number 2Q0 614 517 M also contains the digits 614, but it refers to the electronic module, not the pump. On the module sticker you will find the marking ‘ESP9’. The same Bosch control module number, 0 265 956 687, also appears in our listing for pump 2Q0614517AQ, so tell the two parts apart by the VAG pump number.

Symptoms of a faulty assembly

The driver and the diagnostic technician may notice:

  • inactive ABS and ESP/ASR,
  • a valve fault code in the hydraulic block,
  • the ABS warning light showing from start-up.

Before you remove the pump, read the faults with a diagnostic tool and check whether the culprit is a wheel speed sensor, a fuse, a wire, a plug or a weak battery. After fitting this unit, bleeding the brakes is essential; module coding and calibration of the steering angle sensor are often needed too.
