How to choose a throttle body for your engine
The throttle body regulates the amount of air drawn into the engine. Electronic versions have their own motor and a position sensor, so what matters is not just the car model but the full number on the housing, for example Bosch 0280750146.

When the throttle body may cause trouble

- jerking or a weak response to the accelerator,
- reduced power or limp mode,
- the engine warning light coming on.
Other causes can produce similar symptoms, so it is worth running diagnostics before you buy. In many cars an electronic throttle body needs to be adapted with a diagnostic tool after it is replaced.
