The ABS system increases our driving comfort and safety from the mid-1960s. It was designed by Dunlop and introduced for the first time in a Jensen FF car. In many older and modern car models, manufacturers use various types of systems responsible for improving the level of comfort as well as driving safety. An extremely important role is played, among others, by systems responsible for protection against slipping. These are most often ABS and ESP systems supported by a network of sensors and electronic controllers. Such equipment has a huge impact on safety. It is worth learning more about the operation of such solutions, which from convenience have become one of the basic elements of equipment of many cars.
What is worth knowing about the operation of ABS and ESP systems?
As for the ABS systems, they are responsible for detecting loss of grip when braking. They are especially useful when driving on slippery surfaces such as snow, ice or a wet road covered with leaves, etc. If slipping is detected, this system automatically initiates pulse braking. Thanks to this, you can effectively slow down and brake without losing traction and the reaction of the wheels to turning the steering wheel.
The second type of system that improves driving safety is ESP. In this case, we are dealing with a solution responsible for track control.
